About Russell
Painting everything in his life, he arrived at the doors of Art School. Having attained Top of his class, he was then invited to create an Art Show at the highly prestigious Fran Willis gallery in Victoria. An honour that was a rarity for someone of the ripe young age of 24.
Adding to his creative portfolio, Russell co-founded and grew a successful web solutions company. His enviable passion focused on developing innovative strategies for web marketing and together with his team, created reliable tools for building and tracking growing customer bases.
Growing up a son of a Realtor, Russell was also instilled with a love affair with Real Estate. When Russell is asked about Real Estate, he jokes "Well, I grew up as a kid drawing and painting houses, then I bought my first small piece of land when I was 25, and now at 39 I am drawing and painting houses again! - I have no choice BUT to love Real Estate!"
Now Russell is fully dedicating his passion and his expertise to creating the "perfect lead generating machine for realtors". Artistic house portraits of their clients' homes.
With Russell's excitement as contagious as a mid winter cold, you cannot help but visualize your name on your clients' walls for years to come.

Hi Debbie,
We received the beautiful watercolors! They are true treasures of the past!! You are very talented, and we are so happy to have
the watercolors back!! Thank you for getting them to us so quickly. They will inspire us during the rebuild!
We are looking forward to adding the new house to the series. Have a nice weekend!
AnnB - Texas 5/28/11
Hi Debbie,
We received the replicas you made of the Mission Inn this week and they are absolutely wonderful! My wife loves the one I
gave to her, and we can hardly wait to give the other one to our friends in Cape May.
Jack and Cate D - New Jersey 4/1/11
Hi Debbie,
The painting arrived yesterday and it looks fantastic! I love the notecards, that is so nice of you to include them.
I think my husband is going to love the portrait and we'll always remember the first winter in our home. Thank you so much!
Megan B. - Redding, CT - 2/23/11
Debbie,
I absolutely love the painting. I forwarded the email to my girlfriend who left her home for the last time on Sunday to return to college and she started tearing.
She couldn't believe the detail, and she loved it. I don't think any changes are necessary.
I look forward to seeing it in person. Just let me know how and when you need me to pay.
Thank you again!
Sean
Debbie,
We gave the house portrait to our son and daughter in law for Christmas. They loved it!
They thought it looked better than the house really does... although I think it looked exactly the same.
Thanks again, it was a great gift and made this Christmas extra special.
Happy New Year,
Kris & Ev Cowan
Hi Debbie, Thank you so much for the houses. My children loved them and could not believe that anyone actually
made anything like that. Thank you so much for getting them to me for Christmas and for your time and hard work.
I do appreciate it, and I loved your interpretation - they really turned out great.
Thank you again and I'll be in touch for some more houses. Happy New Year to you!

"When we finally made our last house payment, I decided to surprise my husband by having a home portrait made. At first, I contacted an acquaintance for the job, but after seeing Richelle's web site I was so impressed that I was compelled to change my original arrangement. Richelle was everything I'd hoped for; very kind, conscientious, professional, extremely talented and a great communicator. Everything went perfectly and our portrait is more beautiful than I could have imagined."

"Richelle was wonderful to work with and created a truly unique portrait of our home. In addition to her artistic talent, she has a great grasp of the big picture while also being able to focus on the details. One of the things we really liked about the process was when Richelle checked in with us to ask questions and make sure specific features matched our image. When we received the final portrait, we were "wowed" by the attention to detail. Thank you for a wonderful keepsake of our home. "

"Richelle did an amazing job of capturing in her painting the magic of the place where my husband and I got married; she managed to make an already magnificent building more beautiful, and she came up with the clever idea to include my husband and me, which was the icing on the cake. The painting was the perfect gift for my one year wedding anniversary; it is absolutely breathtaking and is something that my husband and I will cherish for a lifetime. Richelle is a wonderful woman, who has a natural talent and love for her artwork, and her passion is evident in both speaking with her and in the beautiful finished product. I contacted Richelle based on two glowing recommendations, and I will gladly recommend Richelle to anyone that I know who is looking for a painting and I plan on contacting her in the future."

"I would like to take this opportunity to share with you what a marvelous experience I had with Richelle Flecke when she painted the most beautiful watercolor portrait of our house! Richelle is an extremely talented artist; in several instances she was able to capture what I wanted without even having a photograph! She simply went off my description and managed to capture it perfectly! It was magical!! Richelle is an absolute delight to work with and very helpful; she walked me through each step and always checked first with me if she had any questions. I recommend Richelle Flecke without any reservations whatsoever as an extremely talented artist you can trust and who has your best interests at heart! But the best recommendation I can give is that I plan to have Richelle paint another house portrait in the future for us!"

"Richelle, Thank you for your beautiful portrayal of our home. Your attention to detail is most impressive. You are an extremely talented and very professional artist. It is truly a treasured piece of artwork in our family, one that we all enjoy everyday." Andrea & Steve Oakville, Missouri |

"Richelle, I just got the most wonderful Christmas gift from my brother-in-law, Mike Kelly - he commissioned you to draw our house in Indianapolis. I can't believe how well you captured our house in the woods. Mike showed me the pictures he gave you, but they didn't provide the panoramic view of the whole house. Somehow you pieced everything together and captured our home perfectly. You even had the shadows, the trees, and the landscaping exactly as they appear on summer days. Thanks so much for doing this, Richelle." Maureen and Don Hunton Indianapolis, Indiana |
|
"My wife and I had just finished building (ourselves) the house of our dreams over the past two years, and I really wanted to surprise my wife with a portrait of it for Christmas. When I had that conversation with Richelle, I think she was almost as excited as I was! Richelle was more than willing to help out with such things as the best picture angles, my framing questions, and landscape ideas as we had no landscaping at the time! Her #1 priority was making sure that we got exactly what we wanted, and we did! The portrait is gorgeous, the detail is amazing, it's even more than we could have hoped for!" "I wanted to thank Richelle so very much for her part in my extremely special birthday present. The portrait she created of our home is absolutely beautiful. Ron and I both love it and my girls - Rachel and Hannah - can't believe how beautiful and detailed the creation is. I have my portrait hanging in my home office where I can enjoy it every day. Richelle showed not just our "house" but brought in the warmth that makes it our "home". She is an amazingly talented artist and her love for what she does shows in her finished product." Barb Boyer

"Last summer our family spent a week at our cousin's lovely home in Greece. We took pictures of the home at the time with the intention of having a portrait done. We presented the portrait to them at Christmas, and they were thrilled. They proudly showed off their home to everyone gathered. Richelle was very professional, and the whole process was simple."

"My husband, brother, and I surprised my parents with a portrait of their home on Christmas. They both started tearing up and my mom started crying the minute they opened it. It was perfect! Richelle was a pleasure to work with and captured our home perfectly! "

"Richelle Flecke is a true artist. As a designer, I admire Richelle's technical abilities to accurately render the details of my house, as well as capture the soul and essence of my home. This tiny little ranch house was the one my husband and I moved into when we married, and the one to which we brought both of our daughters home. If you were to drive by it, you might notice a weedy lawn, a crooked mail box, dirty windows, or a cracked driveway. But Richelle painted our house the way we see it in our hearts: a warm, beautiful, inviting home where flowers bloom, children grow, and love and laughter reside."

"I have a custom portrait of my house (illustrated by Richelle) in a very prominent place in my living room and I have enjoyed looking at it and remembering the dreams I had and the enjoyment and pride that the kids and I had in living in that house. When I look at it I remember how I fell in love with the house on an “open house” Sunday on a spring breezy day and knew right away that I wanted to buy it. It looked the same as Richelle captured it!"

"I just wanted to let you know how much my parents loved the portrait of "For the Girls." They could not believe how beautiful it was and what a special gift it was. I think my dad showed it to every single person that came over to our house during the wedding week. It was really special for them! I just wanted to pass that along, as I was thinking about how much my parents absolutely loved it and were so amazed by how beautiful it was! Anyway, thanks again for your outstanding work on this project. You certainly made her very happy."

"We would like to thank Richelle for the wonderful portrait she created as a Christmas gift for Diane's employer. Upon receiving the painting of their home they were clearly overwhelmed with joy and amazement (it even brought tears). They were extremely impressed with Richelle's ability to "capture the true look of their house "— to the point that she even "aged" the look of newly planted landscaping. Her personal care, attention to detail and artistic ability made this the perfect gift. It is proudly hanging in their home. It was a pleasure working with Richelle from start to finish."

"A house is more than wood, brick and mortar – it’s a place of warmth for sleepy, 2 am feedings, glue for games of hide and seek, a safe haven from grammar school bullies, a shadow-filled, haunted Halloween mansion, and a love–filled, candle-lit, spirit of Christmas abode. So, when I searched the Internet for someone to render a portrait of our house, I looked for an artist who could capture it’s essence. As soon as I saw Richelle’s website, I knew I’d found an artist with soul. Thank you Richelle. Your portrait will be passed from generation to generation - and the spirit of our home will always be remembered."

The portrait is amazing! You are amazing! We cannot thank you enough!"

The Artist
A gift from god -
I am so grateful to receive this heavenly gift from god. The gift of creating this artwork by hand with no trick photography, just good old fashioned eye for detail and artistic flair.
My artistic skills were honed from early days, having spent many of my childhood days with a Russian painter by the name of Meir Appelboim. Meir was a lonely old Russian artist who I met through my school community activities when I was 15 years old.
Meir’s art work had a huge impact on me and I was deeply inspired by him. As time passed my family and I adopted him as a grandfather figure and we were close to him until he passed away 20 years later.
Thank you Meir for all you taught me with so much love.
I would also like to thank my Literature high-school teacher Mrs Dvora Silverstone. She was the first person to acknowledge my strength and open my heart to see my talent. I will never forget her belief in me and the sensitivity and patience she had with me. The full story of me as a child in Mrs. Silverstone's class is written in the introduction to my book - 'Living in History' (see Book page in the menu).
During my subsequent 20 year career as a hi-tech entrepreneur, my creativity and artistic skills were always at the core of my work. I was involved in companies that developed multimedia systems combining graphics, animation and visual interfaces. I was able to harness my artistic gift into practical business…just as Mrs Silverstone had helped me do back at school.
I become very emotional when I draw beautiful old houses. They are living history scattered everywhere across the English countryside. Driving along narrow country roads you can be sure that nearly every driveway you pass ends with a beautiful house with a history all of its own.
When I’m drawing a house, the fine detail of my pen work takes me on a magical journey where the history of each property is revealed with every brick and stone I immortalise. The uneven lines of the roof, walls and beams deepen this mystery. That’s why I slightly enhance these elements to bring out the warmth and personality of the houses. This Gentle Twist to Perspective is my unique style and my artistic signature. It transforms a house into a work of art that tells an ancient story.
Today, after a long worldwide journey as an IT businessman, I settled down with my family in a beautiful little village in the middle of a forest in East Sussex. Here I dedicate myself full time to my art. My passion for old and magnificent houses grows by the day. It’s fascinating to realise that – whether a person lives in an end-of-terrace, semi-detached, detached or a manor house – they are literally living in history.
"...His training by MeirAppelboim, the Russian artist, in the basic skills of art along with the important talent of perspective has helped Eli create stunning works of art..."
Art and Auctions, Sussex Life, November 2004.
"...Eli Turns back on IT to take up his brush for Art.traded in a powerful career to enjoy a more peaceful life as a painter doing beautiful paintings of people's homes and property..."
The Observer, October 2006.
Portrait size -
The portraits can be made in two different sizes: A2 and A1. These sizes allow maximum detail. A3 size will occasionally be used only for small non detailed structures.
Arrange for an on-site visit by the artist or just send photos -
An on-site visit by the artist is recommended for determining the most suitable angle of the house. However, you can send photos yourself following the instructions detailed in the link below.
Get your portrait on CD -
After creating the art work, the portrait is then scanned into the computer and given to you on CD. That allows you to have a wide range of possibilities and outputs in addition to the framed portrait itself.

John Maxwell is an award winning multi-media artist residing in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. His media include pencil drawings, pen & ink drawings, and watercolor paintings. John's work has been exhibited in shows and galleries throughout the Delaware Valley.
His "House Portraits" decorate hundreds of homes in the Delaware Valley. He has also done work on a commission basis for real estate agents wishing to give their clients a thank you for that special sale. Let John work with you to create a keepsake to pass on to future generations.
John is also well known as the "Boathouse Row Artist" as he has done innumerable works of the individual boathouses that line the Schuylkill River on Kelly Drive in Philadelphia. He can usually be found in a kiosk amidst the boathouses during the many regattas that occur throughout the rowing season.
He has also done many popular sites within the city of Philadelphia and the surrounding area.
John is currently working on the "Stadium Series" which includes Citizens Bank Park, as shown above. Soon to come . . . the Spectrum, and the Wachovia Center.
John Maxwell will take pride in creating the perfect image of your home. It should be noted that John's work is done totally by hand, there is no use of computers or digitized photographs involved in the creative process.
Choose the medium of your choice; Watercolor or Pen & Ink, the choice is yours - simply a matter of taste. Please view the Pen and Ink samples above and the Watercolor on the Home Page.
What to do: Photograph the home. Take photos from several different angles - some up close and some far away. Specific details should be photographed up close. The more photos provided the better job John can do. (Please provide colors of details such as shutters, house colors, etc., if not true to color on photograph.)
John will double mat and frame your house portrait to suit the colors in the artwork and ship it to you for a nominal shipping and handling fee. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery unless other arrangements have been made.

Sebes
Over 25 years of experience back these beautiful hand-rendered portraits. They are ideal for capturing those memories that make up what everyone calls "home." Consider this idea for a housewarming as well as a special holiday, birthday, or any occasion. This is an heirloom to be cherished by all for years to come.
In addition to having this fine piece of artwork hanging in your home for everyone to see, use it on greeting cards, letterhead, or note cards. Even newly built houses can be enriched with future foundation shrubbery and plantings to give it that finished look.
Watercolor and pen-and-ink are beautiful choices, but for a unique look, a sepia wash can be done for the same price as pen-and-ink wash. This gives your portrait a classic feel that is sure to add warmth and nostalgia wherever it is displayed.
For a more delicate look and feel, consider a pencil sketch rendering. The pencil adds a softness that cannot be achieved by the pen and ink.
